Aidan Marston William

10 weeks old!

We're having lots of fun watching Aidan grow and change each day. At his 2-month checkup he weighed 12 lbs. 5 oz. and was 23 inches long. He smiled through the first vaccination until he figured out what was going on ... actually he smiles quite often, and is already developing his own language. The last few days he's been especially "talkative" and seems to expect that we understand him perfectly! He's sleeping really well at night (about 6 hours at a time now) and is generally content during the day, too. As you see from the pictures below, his neck is now strong enough to hold his head up, and he's enjoying daily story-time!

Aidan received his first grandma visit when he was about a month old.

Kita likes Aidan also.

One of the highlights of Aidan's recent development has been his smile. He'll now smile back at us and seems very happy to see us and interact with us.

La Girafe Sophie is his favorite toy.

We've started carrying him around on walks from time to time, as they often soothe him. In fact, merely putting him in his Snugli harness can send him to sleep!

Okay, so maybe it takes a few minutes for that calming effect to kick in...

Mommy's boy

Daddy's boy.

Teaching Aidan about the great classics of American literature

He gets really into the reading, likes to reach out and try to touch the pictures.

Jen also is reading to him in German (this is "Pu der Baer", the German version of Winnie the Pooh). Here he is also sporting his Pooh rattle.

Aidan loves to have visitors. Our friends Maren and Dominic are very fond of him.

Dominic is a natural (which is a good thing, as he and Maren have their own child due early next year).

As mentioned above, he's really starting to hold up his head a lot more.

And he has a lot of fun trying to climb and push himself around.

After he's done climbing around, we try to swaddle him to get him to settle down for a nap.

Every day he makes us happy in new ways...

...and he seems to be happy with us too.
